Actually, I've had really good success with the contact cement. It
soaks in pretty quickly so I apply several coats, not just the one that
would normally be used.

I have tried contact cement with no success. Buying new valcro backing
pads at $3.95 each can get expensive in a hurry. I have the valcro in
sheets, but can't get it to stay fastened to the holder.
