In CA, when something really serious happens, you will have MANY people
who will be desperate, who will need the basics NOW and who will not be
able to move any significant distance of terrain and because of the
breakdown in transportation. From what we have seen in other recent
large scale disasters (Florida and the hurricanes), the government will
be of little help. Seems like a recipe for a tv movie.

I am always reminded of the footage of the attacks of 9/11...the only
support the man on the street had was what he could provide for
himself. Those whose responsibility was to protect and serve the public
were in the situation and fighting for their own survival.
