It's a heck of a laptop if it is 29cm (12 inches!) deep. Sounds more like a
box to me. My laptop is less than 5cm deep and fits in fine.

My laptop is under 3cm deep, and fits nicely in an old Dremel Multi aluminium
case, along with 4 extra batteries, network and camera stuff, wireless mouse,
chargers, USB hub, phone charger, ...
Toshiba 3110CT, under a kilo without battery.
