o.k., so now i have a timer that will let me adjust between 1 minute and
23 hours and 59 minutes. but now... when the timer turns off, i need to
ring an alarm, a loud and annoying alarm such as an old fire drill
alarm or to signal an alarm that can be tied into the intercom system
at the business. any ideas?????

The simple way is to use a relay with change over contacts. Feed the coil
off the timeswitch, and when it switches off it makes a connection between
the common and normally closed contacts on the relay.
