I strongly feel we can clean it up though.

One idea I had was that when a user posts a question there and gets
abused, then a few thousand posters from here jump in over there to
help out.

Could turn out to be a useless flamewar, or could teach the scummy ones
over there that their behavior is no longer tolerated.

In essence, alt.hvac could be made an extension of this group.
