I wish I had, too. (Btw, mine's also a top freezer, 21 cu. ft. and also
makes that noise when the compressor kicks on.)
Like many of us, I grew up with great Frigidaire appliances. Thanks to its
former reputation, we're hardwired to trust the name. But between the thick
layers of ice in the freezer, the ice maker leaking water into the fridge
section and the motor working when it wants to, I've had it.
Thanks for the tip on the defrost control. Hopefully we'll be able to afford
a new fridge soon, but just in case....
