Wrong. I'm using a mark in a convention which does _not_ signify
something is being quoted. That's the point.


So in Ed's example:
[
"We aren't coming today," said John. "Mary said, 'I can't go today
because I have too much homework.'"
]
it's quite clear that John is not quoting Mary, right?
