You're kidding, right? There's a 3-4x difference in cost. That's not
trivial.


More like a 20x difference ($7.99 for a GFCI vs. 39 cents for a standard
duplex receptacle.)

Of course, if you wire it properly, you need only one GFCI per *circuit*, not
one per receptacle.
