I recommend that you take your door handle and a template to a hardware
store near you. (not the Home Depot as this will only frustrate you)

A good salesman will take the time to find the right handle for you. If
it is a Wieser or Schlage handle you may be all right. If it an older
unidentifiable handle, you might be screwed.
