yes, I'd heard about Dell's approach, so I asked on the Compaq group and
had gotten that tip. The Compaq had a white, which was lacking on the
Gateway - and the Compaq had one pin with 2 wires going to it - otherwise
they were the same

Also, some web vendors list the Compaq 152769-001 as ATX
