To cut long story short the wire to light 2 has been cut and I was able
to pull the wire out.

Bad move - if you`d left it in, you would have been able to use it as a
fish-wire...

Not sure if you`re technically allowed to do this work now under part P
as you`re essentially rewiring a point.
