I have a chimney which seems to have a hole just below the bedroom floor
allowing smoke to go into the bedrooms. I can't reach into the
brickwork as there're timbers in the way but I was thinking maybe
fireproof expanding foam would do the job. All I can find in the diy
places are foams which go upto 60C. Would this be enough or do I need
some sort of specialist fireproof expanding foam? Any ideas where I
would get it as the net is just giving me mail order places where the
postage is as much as the product.

BES have various intumesant (sp?) products like this. Not sure if they
currently have foam but have a look.
