You have a lot to learn here.
A real estate agent is basically a commission broker or salesperson
who gets paid a fee for bringing buyer and seller together. Basically
a salesperson (nothing wrong with that).
An attorney is, well, an attorney.
They are two different things.
You pay for your own attorney, and they are duty bound to protect YOU
(in some kinds of deals you get reimbursed, but real estate normally
isn't one of them).
If you had an agent/broker, in most but not all states you would
customarily still have your own attorney.
