Varies from one manufacturer to the next. A Toshiba authorized servicer may
be able to get you this info - or perhaps a Google search if you're lucky.
Some newer players can have their firmware loaded / upgraded using a cd-rom
burned with that specific firmware and updating program.

That unit is not compatible with any dvd-rw or dvd-ram disc and

will not play out of region discs.
