Default painting plasterboard

No, the taped joins do not show (if you do it right). The edges of the
plasterboard are tapered in so that when you have filled it, you end up
with a totally flat surface.

The tape & filler are specially designed for jointing plasterboard...
called something obvious like "plasterboard jointing tape" and
"plasterboard filler".
