The bloke next door to a mate has had an extension stuck on the side
of his house. The pitched roof was extended over the new extension (it
was, honest g) with a new 'hip' (is that what they call the slopey
bit on the end?).

Looking at it it would appear that they have used 'ridge' tiles on the
hip, so they seem to stick up more than needed?

Did the builders do this because "you can't get the lower profile ones
any more" (often an answer to such questions), they didn't know there
were different angles or they simply didn't have the right ones on the
truck so couldn't be bothered?
