I tried it with the 100w bulb and i got sound, then slowly the picture
started coming on. It seemed fine so i put the fuse in and crossed my
fingers. Been running it for an hour now and still no big bang.
thanks again James.

ive replaced some parts in a 48cm tv SMPS.
(see previous posting for list)
i read the sci.Troubleshooting and Repair of SMPS and im still not sure
if testing with a lamp across the main fuse holder(fuse removed)
is a good idea before i put the fuse in and see what happens?
is there a better way to test the circuit or should i put the fuse in
and flick the switch?
if the lamp idea is good then what size bulb should i use? 240v
60w, 100w?

Yes that's a very good idea, I would probably try the 100w bulb, 60w may not
pass enough current to start the set.
