ton (by weight) of ice produces when it melts?
It takes 288,000 BTU of heat to melt a ton of ice. If your icebox has
a heat load of 12,000 BTU per hour, you will need to have a ton of ice
delivered every 24 hours. 12,000 x 24 = 288,000
