I know this is an old thread but I missed it when it was new. For the
possible benefit of future googlers...

Somewhere on the www or in a library book I saw an interesting solution.
The guy mounted his chop saw on an angle. The cut pieces slid off into a
box. The stop was a screw or a bolt, which also provided sawdust relief.
IIRC there was a guard to keep his hand away from the chop saw blade during
the marathon cutting sessions.
