Thanks for suggestion.
We now have a mode switch on order
to see if this cures the problem.

micro, but more the 'garbage in garbage out' idea, so look for another input
that is corrupt- hence mode switch problems. if problem still persists, then

Have replaced both end sensors and centre LED but fault still there.
The voltages seem to be ok.
Could the main micro be faulty?
