My roof timbers have quite a lot of soft white deposits on them, very

The house is a semi, probably 1930's the loft area is draughty & dry &

Are the white deposits likely to be anything serious or is this common?

Thanks

If they are simply the dusty white type then dont worry, rub them off
with an old sack or something but take a good peek to see if there are
any little holes nearby

thanks, i intend brushing off all traces so at least i can see if anything
returns.
