If you go for a C-plan system, connect the pump as per the C-plan circuit
diagram rather than leaving it connected to the boiler.

I'd convert to S-Plan fully pumped, myself. Sounds like a fairly simple job.
It might even be possible to go sealed pressurised at the same time.
