Default Stubby

Since Leo has mentioned the change concerening the Stubby I think I'll jump in.

I have formed Stubby Lathe USA, Inc., a corporation which has been appointed the sole and
exclusive importer of the Stubby Lathe product line into the United States. I currently have
an order of S750s due in November (I'm hoping a little earlier) and a second order which will
follow. For now if somebody wants a S1000 I will be happy to get one but stocking of the
S1000 will come later.

I will be selling the machines directly and there will also be a limited number of re-
sellers. John Jordan will be one of the re-sellers.

The electronics package will be somewhat changed from what you see currently. For the US
market the VFD will no longer be under the base of the machine but will be accessable. Also
the remote unit will be full function rather than having just start and stop buttons.

Pricing is not yet firm but I will be doing that as soon as possible. It will be
competitive.

If you haven't seen a Stubby or haven't used one, and are in the market for a really nice
lathe, you really should do that before you make a buying decision. There is a large group
of happy owners around the country and it is likely that we can hook you up with one of them
who isn't too far from your home. My belief is that if you try one you will want it -- that
is the way most of them have been sold in the past.

We would also be happy to invite you into the chat group:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/stubbygroup so you can see for yourself who the owners are and
what they and potential owners are talking about.

We will have a web site up as soon as possible but there is a lot to do right now so I hope
that everybody will understand.

You may contact me directly via .

Please forgive this commercial notice -- I really hadn't intended doing it yet and had not
intended doing it this way but am happy that the cat is out of the bag. I will try to keep
the commercials off the group.

I've retired three times already and had no intention of getting into yet another business.
But, the Stubby is just too good a product to be unavailable in the US market due to the
weakness of the dollar which is down 30% against the Australian dollar in the last two years.
That must change, I hope!
