Default ANN: New small servo products, power supply kit on display at Iron Fever

IMService has released a new series of inexpensive servo motors and
timing belt reducer drives. They are designed for "do it yourself" CNC
conversions of small desktop machines such as Sherline, Taig and the
many imported mills and lathes and also CNC routers. The motors and
drives are available individually and also included in a new series of
low cost CNC conversion kits.

The motors are rated at 1.75 amp 30 volts and 20 oz-in. Peak stall
torque is 170 oz-in. With the belt reducers, the drives operate at
1000 rpm max, with rated torque of 60 oz-in and peak torque is around
500 oz-in. They have .25 dia, D-flat shafts, front and back, and 500
line HEDS encoders. The reducers bolt onto the same bolt pattern as a
NEMA 23 stepper motor. The motors are optimized to work with the
DeskCNC, step and direction driven servo driver cards, but will work
with other servo drivers as well.

A new power supply kit is also available with a 160 VA toroidal
transformer and major components for a 28vdc supply.

The systems will be on display at the Iron Fever exhibition from
August 13-15, 2004. This is the second annual Iron Fever event.
There is an auction on Friday, with many collectible miniature steam
and internal combustion engines, machine tools and accessories, and
some junk. ;-) Saturday and Sunday the model building craftsmen bring
in their latest gems and show them to the admiring public. There are
a wide variety of models, ranging from steam and ic engines to trains,
boats, artillery pieces, and airplanes. Last year there were boat
races and an occasional running of a stand mounted radial airplane
engine.... indoors. The CAMS club will be demonstrating various
aspects of CNC machining with small machines. The festivities are held
at the fairgrounds in York, PA. A short drive north of Baltimore and
just east of Gettysburg.

We plan to have 4 machines setup and running in our booth. If you
visit, be sure to stop by and say hi.
