CNN/USA/Gallup: Bush Got Bounce From Dem Convention

The first poll taken after the Democratic convention shows a significant
bounce - for the Bush-Cheney ticket.

A CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll released Sunday shows that among likely
voters, President Bush reaped a 5-point bounce from the Democratic
confab, and he now leads Sen. Kerry, 50 percent to 47 percent.

The new numbers represent a sharp reversal from a July 19-21 CNN/USA
Today/Gallup survey, which had Kerry leading Bush by two points, 49
percent to 47 percent.

Even among registered voters - a group that typically trends more
Democratic than likely voters - Bush picked up a 1-point bounce. The
CNN/USA/Today poll of registered voters has Kerry now leading Bush by 3
points, 50 percent to 47 percent. In the earlier survey, Kerry led Bush
by 4 points, 49 percent to 45 percent.

Commenting on the negative bounce for the Kerry-Edwards ticket, dejected
CNN political analyst Bill Schneider said Sunday, "The convention rallied
voters, but it rallied Republicans more than Democrats."

"All those questioned were questioned after John Kerry's acceptance
speech," lamented CNN's Wolf Blitzer.

Jeez, I un-plonked you on Saturday, and already we're running into bloggish
misrepresentations. g

The story you posted above wasn't from CNN. It was from some blog or
right-wing website that misrepresented the CNN poll. Here's CNN's actual
story, from which this bloggish baloney was extracted -- like teeth g:

It's interesting to read the two stories -- the actual CNN story and the
thing you posted above -- side-by-side. There are two realities, Virginia,
and one of them ain't really real.

While I consider CNN to be largely a leftwing blog, I actually went
and read it. Interesting how Kerry is still neck and neck with Bush on
some issues, and behind on others, particularly After a convention
where typically the challengers convention nets him a 10-15 point
bounce. If the original cite was from a rightwing website, its
interesting to see them using Leftwing tactics in news presentation.
Must really **** off the Left when their own playbook gets used
against them.

Im reminded of the newspaper article in a Lefty paper with the blazing
headlines " Cop Kills Kid". Third paragraph finally gets around to
mentioning that the kid was holding up a liquor store with a sawed off
shotgun and an off duty police officer shoots the little ******* (long
rap sheet), while the first two paras mention the age, race, school,
and describes the crying family members. Your usual spin from the
Left. Shrug.
