There must be some silly situations where humans just wave another through and these things will just sit there. Imagine four of them pulling up to a four way stop simultaneously and just sit there, for example.


According to my History Fun Book, from when I was 10, there was a state
where the law was, verbatim from the FunBook, "When two cars [or maybe
locomotives] come to an intersection, both must stop and neither can
proceed until the other has passed."

I don't remember if it said what state that was.
