About 20 years ago I sent 2.5l of paint, also prohibited, by post.
Sealed the lid, put the can in a sturdy box filled with polystyrene
chip and sealed that, too. Never had any complaint, either from RM or
the customer.
(The paint was for an RAF station in Rutland, Cottesmore or N
Luffenham, and would have taken at least half a day to deliver by van
from Leicester.)
