I have long thought it wrong to mark down for spelling and grammar,
except in languages.

Plenty of people have died due to medical staff not being able to read
or understand a doctor's notes.


even more have died or received poor treatment because the doctor
or surgeon made a simple mistake.

These days everything is digitised, including most if not all GP
prescriptions
