I finished the bathroom remodel and now I'm closing the shop for
a couple of months. I'm having rotator cuff surgery on Monday.
6 - 8 weeks in a sling, right (primary) arm.

I had bicep tendon surgery on the same arm about 10 years ago so
I'm familiar with the overall process, PT, etc. There is some indication
that I'll need the left shoulder done at some point but I've got a complete
tear on the right side that's really crimping my style. I just spent the day
putting the winter stuff away and getting the summer stuff out. Im pretty
sore right now.

I got the bathroom done just in time. It's a basement bathroom, mostly
used by me, so I decided on a wood motif. Always wanted a room like
that. Flat pine trim and matching accessories. Sort of a rustic, cabin
like feel. The accessories were the last shop project for a while. I need
a new toilet-side table, but that's going to wait until I open up the shop
again.

Oh yeah - I scored a $200 Cold Therapy machine for $40 on Craigslist.
The cooler/pump portion is $150, the shoulder pad adds $50. The one
on Craigslist just happened to come with the shoulder pad. Sweet!

I had same few years back. Found some things I had problems doing
while in the immobilizer:
1: Tightening my belt: Attached a short cord with a loop in the end
to a pair of long nose locking pliers. Fastened the pliers to the end
of the belt and the loop over a door knob.
2: Zipping my jeans. Put some spare lead junk on a 8 inch nail with a
hook bend. Hang this on the bottom of the zipper cover, then zip
without problem.
3. Tying my shoes: Bought some of the elastic shoestring
replacements. Still use them on one pair of shoes.
4: Answering the phone while Walking the dog: Made an S-hook to hang
on my belt. Hang the leash handle on this while answering the phone.
