Incredible story of Texas:

Bureaucracy? Rigidity? Racism? Mere stupidity?

The baltsun article is by the same author as NYT and is probably a copy.
The CBS article is very similar but each one (cbs and the other two) has
lines the other doesn't have.

Google gokal vaccine for more choices.

Houston

Be sure to read the last two paragraphs.

A reminder that what's 1b in Texas may not be in your state.

The people that brought the charges deserved to be freeing this winter.
The guy should be applauded for his effort to not waste a single dose.

And the people who fired him.

This part especially:

The officials maintained that he had violated protocol and should have
returned the remaining doses to the office or thrown them away, the
doctor recalled. He also said that one of the officials startled him by
questioning the lack of “equity” among those he had vaccinated.

“Are you suggesting that there were too many Indian names in that
group?” Dr. Gokal said he asked.

Exactly, he said he was told.

It's amazing how that guy managed to twist the word equity.

BTW the charges were dismissed, at the first hearing I think, but he
still hasn't been rehired afaik and other places tell him they can't
hire him until it's resolved.
