If by the same issue you mean that water is running down the lift rod from
the top of the sink, then there is a leak up there. If it leaks with both hot and
cold, only while running, then it would seem to be from the spout. Unless
water is ponding on the sink around the faucets or spout and coming from
there, you're probably going to have to pull the faucet out. But I'd try to
get a look up there first, if possible. Might also be easier to remove the
whole sink to work on it.
