Yes, but it does change texture at one point though it could still be
partly faked. In any case, it is too much lint and not enough care.
They do get pretty nasty if nobody cleans them. Maybe they tried
bushing a brush through and it got stuck.
I just pull mine out and throw it away every few years. It isn't worth
screwing with once that dryer sheet goo gets in the pipe.
A stick of 4" galv stove pipe and a couple elbows are about $10.
In 3 years you might save that much on electricity.
Then there is that fire thing ;-)
