I've used several free cloning programs (including Acronis and
EasUS), but my favourite is AOMEI Partition Assistant.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it, but when you do a simple
disk-to-disk copy you can run into trouble if some of the file names
(full path) are too long. Cloning does a bit-by-bit copy, and doesn't
suffer from this.
