I can also often tell if anyone in any of the cars immediately ahead
is smoking dope or a cigar etc (you can *see* them smoking a vape as
it looks like a steam train)!
Are you sure this animosity of yours isn't due to your moral disapproval
of smoking?
Animosity?
I bet Victorian temperance enthusiasts spoke similarly about the odour
of booze.
They may well have done, except I CGAF if someone wants to set fire to
their money, till it impacts me, then I feel I have the right to have
a say in the matter.
We have a human need to consume liquids, albeit without flavourings or
alcohol, there is no need for us to suck smoke into our lungs and so
doing so is their *personal* choice.
Just in the same way people carrying *personal music players* should
keep them *personal*, and people using a *personal telephone* should
do the same (and hence the need for 'quiet carriages', just like there
was the need for non-smoking carriages, after enough people called for
such).
I don't care about smoking, I care about having to smoke (when just
going about my day-to-day business) or suffer the side effects of
someone else's personal choice (just as I would someone causing an
accident whist drink driving or not picking up after my dog and then
someone else walking it it).
