I had something very similar, on a very similar lampholder, and ended up buying a whole new lamp,
to my annoyance. I think they go in with cables fitted and not intended to be removed. I didn't want to
mess with the risk of the cable coming out of the holder, or changing the cable and it shorting on the
metal, etc.

I'd be interested if you learn how to do it - my replacement is little better. I seem to go through halogens
quite quickly - not sure if that is due to the heat, vibration, poor holder, or what...
