Default Mirror light.

Does anyone remember light pipes? Back many moons ago some surrounds of
mirrors used this type of plastic transparent stuff and a few bulbs to make
an evenly lit surround. Not much good as a light, it had to be said, but I
always thought they were cool.

Been doing up the cloakroom.

At the moment there is an old shaver socket/light above the mirror. Which
contains an 18" florrie. Design wise, it looks its 40 years or so. And
also looks a bit lost, since the mirror is nearly the size of the room -
to make it look bigger.

Don't need a shaver socket these days, and something about 1 metre long
would look better. And warm white LED to match the main lighting.

Any suggestions what would look good without costing a fortune?

Depends on how fugly you think something like this is:
