I have a nice old cast iron casserole dish with a solid cast iron loop
handle on the lid. Even when used on the hob the handle gets too hot to
handle.

Id like to wrap it in something oven proof to make it easier to handle.
Asbestos string? ;-). Hopefully theres a safer substitute for this.
