Default OT R/C Tank battery charger or replacement

I have found an old radio control tank I thought had been lost years

The battery has to be removed from the tank to charge it, it's 8 AA size
cells in a plastice shrink wrap with a 2 pin Molex type connector so
none of my other chargers will fit.Â* I've search the 'net for a
replacement battery and charger without any luck so I'm hoping someone
in this group can point me toward solution.Â* The battery pack is a
fairly tight fit into the tank so I'm going to need an almost direct
replacement.
I have a pic of the battery but have no idea how to post it to the 'net.
They may be nicad batteries, given the age of it which adds to the
problem.Â* The tank actually "fires shells" (actually bb pellets) over no
great distance and with little force which tended to startle people!
I'd rather keep it for a while then give it to someone who will
appreciate it instead of throwing away to landfill.
Sorry for bleating on at length but can anyone offer possible solutions?
Thanks for reading,

Bob.

Thank you all for your useful replies. The 8 AA battery pack is 2x4
configuration which I forgot to mention. I half expect the batteries to
be dead but that in itself isn't a problem, the connector from the
batteries to the tank is Molex 2 pin chargers for which seem thin on the
ground, the Molex seems to have been replaced by something which is
similar but smaller. The lead the charger connectss to from the tank
body is very short which may make it difficult for me to replace...I am
of a certain age...
Please keep your suggestions and ideas coming. I have found a company
online in China who may have made the tank so I emailed them for
UKstockists of parts, waiting to hear back.
Thank you all for your time
Bob
