Ugh! I learned to live with an 8TPI leadscrew but not to like it. To
move to 0.6875" (11/16") takes 5 turns to the 0 mark at 0.625", then
advance +0.050 to 0.675", +0.010 to 0.685", and +0.0025 to 0.6875".
It's like reading a micrometer in steps of 0.025".
