Default bluetooth at 164 feet

I keep hearing that bluetooth is only good for 30 feet, but look at

The last time I looked there were 3 standard ranges of bluetooth.
Less than 1 meter, less than 10 meters, and 100 meters.

There are some range extenders for BT, but I have not looked into them
as I do not do anythig with BT over 10 meters.
