You seem to want / expect some sort of utopia, where people do just
the right thing all the time for good reasons and no one is at all
greedy?

Let's test you with a little quandary.

You employ an accountant and pay them £40k/pa. They save you £5M/pa,
are you going to complain if they put a meal for their wife on their
expenses whist out on a job themselves?

Or pay a director of a charity £50k pa, and they bring in £500k from
making contacts all over the country, do you begrudge them a company
car?

So, if you get rid of all the 'snouters' (as you accuse them of
being), how do you know that any moneys saves directly by that might
be completely outclassed by the money they make / save because of
their actions?

The answer of course is you don't actually have a f'in clue either
way, it's just a little bee you have in your bonnet and you need it
sorted no matter what it costs all of us.
