In fact, that is already an offence in Germany. The new law is simply
to give the EU flag the same protection as foreign national flags.

None of which need, or should have, any such protection.


It is actually quite a specific protection for national flags and
symbols displayed by foreign missions, such as Consulates and Embassies.
Are you suggesting that foreign diplomats and their missions do not need
to be protected by the state they are in?
