Have used the electric corded version the last 2 years and it has held
up well. Made the mistake of replacing the Automatic Feed Spool (AFS)
..065 line with .080 line (which was on sale), and it quit working. My
guess is that the heavier line slowed down the spool, and it never
reached the RPM needed to trigger the internal pendulum to let out
more line. Reinstalled .065 line and it works fine. The ability to
turn the head assembly 180 degrees is a very useful feature for edge
trimming. The wire guide on the base indexes against
sidewalk/driveway concrete edges. Can't emphasize strongly enough to
wear safety glasses during operation.

The corded version has apparently been discontinued, but the 9"
cordless version is around $60 at Walmart:
