I have only seen my PV panels hit rated output only rarely and only for a short period.

The KWp is only achieved when the sky is totally clear, the weather is cold and the sunlight is @ 90deg to the panel
I have 8Kw of PV, generates just under 8Mwh/year.
It all depends on orientation and shading (if any).
My situation is almost ideal.

They deteriorate as they age. (1%/year allegedly)
