Imagine a pipe on the roof to act as a big sprinkler - early deployment
would have killed the fire. Cost - some pipes.

And the damage to the priceless contents when a
small portable extinguisher could have put a small
fire out with no damage to the priceless contents.

Even the CO2/freon dump systems used in massive
great computer installations wouldn’t be viable
because the worst of the geriatrics would be able
to be evacuated quickly enough.

If there was a best approach, we would have found it by now.
