A magnetron never dies.

In what universe do you imagine that a vacuum tube:
* Does not lose emission?
* Does not suffer a filament failure?
Magnetrons do, indeed, fail. I've replaced quite a number of the years.
Usually, they gradually lose emission and take longer to heat food.
Sometimes, they just fail, due to an O/C filament.
