You might want to inquire at a good local lumberyard as to whom in
town makes custom wood doors and windows.

There was just an article in Fine Homebuilding (if I recall). For
aluminum storms, the author mentioned Historic One Lite storms from
Allied Window (http://www.alliedwindow.com/products/res_sweir.html).

I would imagine even the most expensive storms would be cheaper than
replacing the window, plus it would be a shame to loose the history.

I need 21 storms myself, so I am having the same internal debate.
