The city engineer missed that part. They've been trying to extend the
city sewer system to new areas they're trying to annex and the ****
definitely is going to have to flow uphill to get to the treatment plant.

No it will be "pumped" up hill. When the pump fails it "flows" back
into your house.

Not my house... A guy with a truck came this fall, pumped my **** into
his truck, and took it someplace. I didn't ask where.

The city's annexation plans have a lot of push back. The people who
aren't within the city limits have perfectly good ways of dealing with
matters and aren't keen on paying for the city's 'services'.

We went through the same thing when I was a kid. They cut down our elm,
tree, dug up the hedge, laid a sewer line, and charged for it by the
frontage even though we weren't connected. My mother eventually
connected after my father died. Our septic system consisted of 4" soil
pipe directly into the creek so it probably wasn't a bad idea. Everybody
did it and the kids that swam in the creek knew enough not to swallow.
Didn't kill us, made us stronger.
