With all due respect, the OP is responding to carcinogenic toxins invading
*her* home. As far as I can tell, she doesn't much care if her neighbor
commits slow suicide; she simply doesn't want to ride the same bus, nor
should she be forced to out of some warped sense of personal freedom.

But carcinogens can enter her home through a wide array of sources. There's
even carcinogens in the "fresh air" outside. Does she also get to dictate the
power plant 3 miles away cease operation, or is that outside her realm simply
because she can't really detect an odor?

She's free to control her indoor enviroment, to the degree that *she* controls
*her* enviroment by changing it and OLNY it, either it's airtight status,
location, or pump in bottled "perr-ie-air" but she's *not* free to control
other's legal activities and trample their rights in an effort to excersise her
own.
