6 gauge and that's pushing it. At full load, you'd have a 10 volt drop.

Holy-moly - will he ever get near full load ?
I'd never have guessed that an RV needed a 50 amp service -
- during power outages I'll run my whole house on my
5000 watt portable generator - the 230 volt receptacle on the
generator is labeled 18.8 amps.

Â* You might be surprised . Those bigger units can have washer and dryer
hookups , 220V AC , etc . Our 25 footer is all 110 and has a dual power
refrigerator (gas or electric) and water heater . Space heaters if you
choose those over the gas furnace draw around 15 amps too . My camper
calls for a 30 amp breaker .
